This Shevlin Park engagement was a backup plan and ended up being amazing. We were originally planning on having our engagement session at Sparks Lake. The road to the lake was closed later than usual this year due to the weather. The bride-to-be didn’t want to postpone. She wanted to send out her save the dates as soon as possible, so we improvised. And it could NOT have gone better!
Chandler and Gage decided on a simple trail here in Central Oregon. It ended up being a total gem. The trail is close to their house. Shevlin Park is a place they have spent a bunch of time going on runs, star gazing, and watching deer. We got to the trail near Shevlin Park for their engagement session at sunrise and started shooting during blue hour. We followed the trail as the sun began to rise and got gorgeous engagement photos in front of foggy mountains. We got a pink and blue sky at sunrise. Finally, we made our way to the river where the couple popped champagne.
Such a simple location turned into a beautiful spot for their engagement session. There were so many connecting trails, we probably could have spent the entire day shooting. Chandler and Gage had a cupcake tasting that day to prepare for their upcoming intimate wedding. This location isn’t a spot I had previously known of, but the couple wanted to shoot their photos in a location that felt like “them.” This Shevlin Park engagement session is a reminder that any of the trails here in Bend are absolutely breathtaking.
