When choosing to have an Oregon coast elopement, there are a ton of options available to you. Cannon Beach, secret beach, Samuel Boardman state park, and so many others. The Oregon coast line is a rocky wonderland and a staple in the Pacific Northwest paradise. Erica and Charlie knew that they wanted to elope somewhere on the coast of Oregon.
They decided that they wanted to use their vacation time on top of the time that they already get off for the holidays and eloped mid December. This Florida couple is used to warmth and sunshine. Here in Oregon in December we got the well-known moody vibes and it can be pretty dang cold. Their day ended up being rainy and definitely on the chilly side. Although, these two still had an incredible wedding day, and here’s why.
Cape Kiwanda
Erica and Charlie chose Cape Kiwanda for their Oregon coast elopement. Cape Kiwanda is located in pacific city. They stayed in the gorgeous hotel that is located directly on the beach of Cape Kiwanda. Pacific city is small and walkable, Charlie and Erica knew that they wanted to be able to walk around a ton for their elopement.
They started their morning off by walking to a nearby coffee shop from the hotel after getting ready I’m doing a first look in front of the beautiful sea stacks. They had coffee and looked at the moody scenery through the windows with their friends and family. Once everyone was warm and ready to go, we walked back towards the hotel, that had a trail head leading to the hike we chose for their wedding ceremony.
The Oregon Coast Elopement Ceremony
Since it was raining, everyone held clear umbrellas as we walked up the short trail leading to the ceremony location. The ceremony spot for their Oregon coast elopement overlooked the beautiful turquoise waves and rock formations in the ocean. The waves crashing was simply beautiful, and yet not loud enough to make it hard for Erica and Charlie to hear their vows to one another. They shared some beautiful words, had their first kiss, and we headed back to the hotel.
Following the ceremony on the Oregon coast elopement, we got some warm drinks in the hotel and sat by the fire so everyone could get toasty after being in the light drizzle. After that, we headed out through the front doors to get group photos in front of the ocean. Once the group photos were finished the couple and I took a solo walk to get gorgeous bride and groom portraits.
Cape Lookout State Park
After taking some initial bride and groom portraits on the beach, we decided to finish Erica and Charlie’s Oregon coast elopement by visiting Cape lookout state park. We explored waterfalls, the forest, and even calves on the beach all while taking gorgeous photos together. By the end of it, Erica was wearing Charlie’s tux jacket because the rain had picked up again.
Following this, Charlie and Erica headed off to go get a romantic dinner and spend time in the hot tub at the hotel. It was an incredible day and the photos turned out beautifully. If you’re considering having an Oregon coast elopement, I would highly recommend Cape Kiwanda.
