The Cascade Lakes are an incredible place to elope. Maybe I’m bias, as this is my home base. Although, the exact reason I chose to live here is because I can’t get enough of shooting elopements in this incredible area. The Cascade Lakes are surrounded by incredible National Forests, Wilderness Areas, waterfalls, alpine lakes, and so much more.
Not only that, but it’s an incredibly sunny place. We don’t see a ton of rain around here, making your odds of having a rain-free elopement incredibly high. If you’re looking for ideas for a Cascade Lakes elopement, look no further.
Cascades Lake Scenic Byway
The Cascades Lakes scenic byway is one of the most gorgeous drives. It’s filled with over 17 cascade lakes that are absolutely stunning, tons of hikes, and endless mountain views. What’s truly incredible is how different each lake is. Different colors of gorgeous water, with different wildflowers painting each of them.
Kelsey and Kyle knew they wanted to elope at the lakes. Although, they were coming from Texas for their Cascade Lakes elopement. They wanted to be able to show their guests multiple locations, and have time to explore something together solo. So we actually picked three different lakes that were all within less than 20 minutes of each other.
The Cascade Lakes Elopement Locations
We started at Todd Lake. This place is a gorgeous gem for a Cascade Lakes elopement. Kelsey and Kyle only had about 12 guests, so we utilized the viewing area for their ceremony. Their guests stood around them as they said their vows together with the lake and Broken Top Mountain in the background. Following that, we did the short and easy 1 mile loop that goes around the lake, getting views of Mt. Bachelor too.
Next, we went to the picnic reception that was set up by Poppy Central Oregon. This took place at Sparks lake, with insane views of the Sisters Mountains. Poppy Central Oregon did an incredible job with this picnic scene and provided food, drinks, champagne, and their wedding cake!
Finally, Kelsey and Kyle headed off for their solo hike at devils lake. We did the short loop around the lake, taking time to stop and take pictures. These were perfect locations for an all-day Cascades Lake elopement.
Downtown Bend, Oregon
After spending the day exploring lakes, saying vows, and enjoying a gorgeous picnic, we were ready to head back into town. Kelsey and Kyle decided to have a Bend, Oregon elopement because of the beautiful landscapes here. Although, Kelsey also adored downtown Bend and really wanted some pictures here.
We made our way from the hotel through the town, stopping to get ice cream, and watch sunset at the park. Golden hour in the city was so beautiful and fun. Crossing streets in their wedding attire and taking in everything this location had to offer. Finally, they want to an Airbnb they were using to host an intimate dinner with their family.
