Fairy lake engagement session

This engagement session at fairy lake really shows off the beauty of Montana. This location is about an hour outside of Bozeman, Montana. Anna and her fiancé wanted to capture the nature of their relationship. I came up to Bozeman to shoot her engagement session. She told me her and her parter love to adventure with their dogs. So that’s exactly what we did here! Want to know more about having an engagement session at fairy lake? Read on.

The Engagement Session at Fairy Lake

I met up with Anna and her partner at their home in Bozeman, Montana. I met their dogs, and then we loaded them up for the drive! The drive to the engagement session at Fairy Lake was gorgeous. Everything outside of Bozeman is stunning, really. Although, this location gave more of a wild feel. We didn’t see very many people at the lake or on the way. Once we arrived, we decided to hike the loop around the lake. We made it a point to take photos with their dogs before they inevitably jumped in the lake and got soaking wet.

After that, we headed out and explored more of the area. There were tons of wildflowers everywhere. We stopped and explored a few wildflowers filled fields. We rolled around in the grass and got a ton of cute candies of the couple as the sun was beginning to set.

Things to Know About Planning a Bozeman Elopement

Montana is super north. There is a ton of snow, even until later in the summer. If you’re planning on going into higher elevation, you will need to plan something out for mid-summer. We did this engagement session in July. And whereas the engagement session at Fairy Lake was clear, other spots wouldn’t have worked out.

For instance, Anna was originally considering Glacier National Park for their engagement session location. Most of the famous hikes and sights are off of the Going To The Sun Road. This is also primarily how people get from one park entrance to another. This was STILL closed in July. Cars weren’t able to access the road due to a ton of snow still being up there. This in turn, also made the rest of the park that was accessible, incredibly crowded. Crowds aren’t the most fun when you’re trying to have your picture taken.
