“Can I elope at an Airbnb?“
The answer is, hell yes you can! Whether you pick to elope at an Airbnb in a beautiful remote location, or one close to a national park, national forest, mountain range, or beach, any of these are amazing options. Why? People who elope generally pick the same place they want to spend their honeymoon at. Picking an Airbnb near your elopement location and all of the other things you want to see makes the trip feel like a wedding and a honeymoon. You will absolutely save money eloping over having a big traditional wedding, but you’re still getting married. Spend some of that saved wedding fund on lodging that feels unique, adventurous, and romantic. Here are my favorite Airbnb’s for an Alaska Elopement!
A-Frame Home in Seward, Alaska.
To start off this last of Alaska Airbnb elopement options is this amazing A-Frame, located on the beachfront of Lowell point. Seward is well known for being a hot spot to get fishing, but they also offer incredible whale tours, some seriously fantastic dining, and so many gorgeous views. One of my favorite hikes here is exit glacier. This insane spot is only an 18-minute drive from Seward. It’s also a seriously unique experience to come here and hike on the beach while seeing gigantic mountains everywhere.
This Airbnb is perfect for couples who want comfort and adventure. Being nestled in the woods filled with wildflowers and blueberries and just steps away from the beachfront, you’re on the frontlines of having an amazing time. Although, the house boasts a modern feel where you can easily relax after having an adventure-filled elopement day. Check it out here!
Cabin in the Woods, Healy, Alaska.
This cabin definitely isn’t going to be a luxurious experience, but it’ll certainly be the actual Alaskan experience. Located on five acres of private wooded property, you could have your elopement ceremony in the backyard with how gorgeous it is. You’re also only a 20-minute drive from Denali National Park, an absolutely legendary location for an elopement.
To top it off, you’re also only two hours from Fairbanks. Take the trip and watch the Northern Lights from Chena Hot Springs. This location gives you tons of options for hiking, adventure, food, and other activities. Sit on the screened-in porch and look to see moose, bears, and other wildlife roaming around. Cozy Cottage by the Sea, Stika, Alaska.
Sitka might be one of those places you haven’t heard of before. Alaska is absolutely gigantic, and one road connects most of the locations I’ll be talking about today. But there are a lot of gorgeous places out there (such as Sitka) that are on an island and you have to fly to that specific location. If you’re looking for privacy out of your Alaskan Airbnb elopement, this is a great spot.
There are only about 8,000 people living in Sitka. So if you love the ocean, fresh seafood, and gorgeous hikes through rainforests and waterfalls, you’ve found your spot. This Airbnb is super cozy and the location is amazing. You’re a short walk away in one direction to the bach, and to downtown in the other direction. Whether you want to have your elopement on the beach or hike somewhere within the rainforest, any location would be breathtaking. Check this bad boy out here for your Alaska Airbnb elopement!
Beachfront Cabin, Seldovia, Alaska.
Seldovia is another tricky one to get to. You can either fly directly into their small airport or you can take a water taxi from Homer. Even getting to this spot is a scenic wonderland and a bit of an adventure all on its own. Seldovia is super small but makes up for it with an intense amount of beauty. Seldovia is an adventurer’s daydream. It’s also dog friendly! If bringing your pet with you for your elopement is important, definitely keep this Airbnb in mind.
Walk outside and get beautiful views and be right on the beach. There are tons of incredible locations for a beautiful and intimate elopement ceremony. This Airbnb also has a sauna, which would be an amazing way to end the day, especially if you partake in a hiking elopement and are feeling a bit sore. Check it out here!
Luxury Villa in Homer, Alaska.
Looking for luxury in Alaska without losing the off-grid wilderness feel? This is the space for you. Bring some guests along for your elopement as this home has the space to host them. It also has 22 acres of gorgeous land filled with eagles flying overhead. This Airbnb is built on top of cliffs overlooking the bay and mountains.
Get all the beauty and adventure Alaska has to offer without even having to leave the property. Say your vows right on the private beach and then enjoy a romantic dip in the hot tub. Interested in a lavish Alaska Airbnb elopement? Check it out here.
Borealis Basecamp, Fairbanks, Alaska.
This one is for the adventurers that want to jam-pack their day full of incredible outdoor activities. This is one of the only clear ceiling igloos in Alaska, providing you with perfect views of the northern lights, all while being able to be inside enjoying the warmth with your partner. During the day, enjoy the trails, firepits, sled dog rides, or the many other activities in the area.
If you’re down for an adventure, this would be an incredible place to have an elopement ceremony as well as enjoy the rest of your day adventuring. The dome has a private bath and kitchenette, making it easy to stay here. There’s also access to a yurt filled with hot drinks, cookies, and lounge space for you to enjoy. Girdwood is an absolute hub for outdoor rec. Summer or Winter, there’s plenty to do. In the winter, enjoy snowboarding at Mt. Alyeska, snowshoeing, and exploring nearby trails that display glaciers and ice caves. In the Summer, see moose, bears, and bald eagles. You will be surrounded by lush rainforest with wild berries growing everywhere, a secret sauna in the woods, meadows littered with wildflowers, and the option to even whale watching nearby.
There are so many different incredibly beautiful places to have an elopement ceremony, followed by a day of adventuring, snowboarding, or even picnicking in the meadows. This house is right in the heart of it all, click here to check it out! Girdwood is an amazing place for an Alaska Airbnb elopement.
Home in Anchorage, Alaska.
Anchorage is the largest city by population in Alaska. This is also probably the most developed location. Although, it is still incredibly close to a ton of hiking, the ocean, and a bunch of recreational activities to make your elopement day rad.
This specific location is a five-minute walk to Glen Alps, and it also has a sauna! Personally, if it was my wedding day, I would want it to be steamy. This neighborhood boasts a lot of privacy and is on the quieter side of town, with access to the Chugach State Forest. There’s also rock climbing and skiing nearby, perfect activities to add to your elopement day. Or, relax at home and get views of the beautiful Mt. Denali on a clear day! With so many gorgeous locations nearby, you can’t go wrong. Check out this Airbnb here!
House near Eklutna Lake State Park, Alaska.
This home provides a camping experience without actually camping (although you totally can.) It’s just two miles from the beautiful Eklutnan Lake State Park and only 45 minutes from Anchorage. This is a great spot if you’re trying to mix nature with the city. Spend your day riding bikes, kayaking, exploring the wilderness, and end it by checking out everything Anchorage has to offer or with a fancy meal.
The home itself is gorgeous and would be a beautiful place for both getting ready photos and an elopement ceremony all on its own. But be warned, this is a dry cabin. Those who have not visited Alaska might not know what this is, but it essentially means no water. So there is no shower, and there is only a composting toilet (which is actually not gross at all, I promise.) If you’re wanting privacy in the woods and to be close to the city, this is a good spot to check out!
Mountain Hideaway in Anchorage, Alaska.
This Airbnb for your Alaska elopement is one heck of a cozy retreat. If you enjoy winter sports, come here to be steps away from backcountry snowboarding or skiing! Relax under the stars in the hot tub, or enjoy the two-person bathtub after your wedding day.
This spot is amazing due to its closeness to both the wilderness, trails, recreation, and also the city of Anchorage. Whether you want to experience dining out for your reception, or hiking to your elopement ceremony, this place can give you both, a luxurious base to get ready and spend the night with your new life-long partner.
